Steppenwolf to Stage Cormac McCarthy's "The Sunset Limited"

The Chicago Sun-Times reports today that:
Steppenwolf Theatre has scheduled the world premiere of [Cormac McCarthy's] drama "The Sunset Limited" -- the tale of a man who saves another man's life on a New York City subway platform -- to run May 18-June 25 in its Merle Reskin Garage Theatre, 1624 N. Halsted. Austin Pendleton will direct as well as co-star in the two-person drama.

McCarthy's play is the latest addition to Steppenwolf's 30th anniversary season, which is entirely devoted to showcasing new work. Tickets to the production ($15) go on sale Friday. Phone: (312) 335-1650.
Those of you familiar with the late, great, NBC drama Homicide: Life On the Street (a personal favorite of the Webmaster's) will remember Austin Pendleton as chief medical examiner George Driscom.
