Steppenwolf to Stage Cormac McCarthy's "The Sunset Limited"The Chicago Sun-Times reports today that:
Steppenwolf Theatre has scheduled the world premiere of [Cormac McCarthy's] drama "The Sunset Limited" -- the tale of a man who saves another man's life on a New York City subway platform -- to run May 18-June 25 in its Merle Reskin Garage Theatre, 1624 N. Halsted. Austin Pendleton will direct as well as co-star in the two-person drama.Those of you familiar with the late, great, NBC drama Homicide: Life On the Street (a personal favorite of the Webmaster's) will remember Austin Pendleton as chief medical examiner George Driscom.
McCarthy's play is the latest addition to Steppenwolf's 30th anniversary season, which is entirely devoted to showcasing new work. Tickets to the production ($15) go on sale Friday. Phone: (312) 335-1650.
