An announcement in the Commercial Appeal (Memphis) yesterday indicated that Cormac McCarthy is a 2015 recipient of the Tennessee Governor’s Award in the Arts.

“[B.B.] King was tapped for a Distinguished Artist Award along with opera diva Mary Costa of Knoxville; award-winning gospel artist and choir director Dr. Bobby Jones of Nashville; country star Loretta Lynn of Hurricane Mills, and novelist Cormac McCarthy of Knoxville.”

    It’s about time!

By any chance are my Shenandoah, Iowa, boys the Everly Brothers past recipients?

Glass: Not that I know of. The nature of the award has changed significantly over the years.
