Howdy. It’s probably been more than a decade since I’ve posted on this forum.

I’m here to extend an invitation to anyone who’d care to attend a book club session on Blood Meridian.

St Martin’s Society is a group of surgeons who meet monthly to discuss books. The venue is the Gingerman in Dallas, Texas.

Sunday April 30 at 1:30 pm.

    They have beer there.

If this is an inappropriate post, delete away!

Rick Wallach, hope you’re doing well!

Forgot to mention – my name is Adam Starr. “Toadvine” was open as a username, amazingly enough!

    Is Candy still posting here

I was LITERALLY thinking about you two days ago as I was on the Western Ave bus in Chicago…heading to 53 Street. I thought….I wonder what ever happened to Adam Starr?

I have thought about you a number of times, maybe even creepy amounts of times over the years…because you recommended a couple of books that actually were pivotal to my reading.

So good to “see” you again…I wish I could hop in the car and make it for that book club meet up….and beer!

Hope you stick around. Are you still massively overloaded with work….I seem to recall you being very busy at work/school (Doctor?)

I’m fine Adam. Never realized you were a scalpel jockey. Hope you’re taking the time to scrape the benzene off your barbecued meats.

You know, I could almost talk myself into flying down there and walking in unannounced. I guess I could claim to be a mind surgeon. I mean, they have beer there, right?

    Great to “see” y’all too!

Yes, work is busy but book club has proven to be a useful diversion. For most of us, college was the last time anyone asked “what do you think about this novel?”

Rick, not only do they have beer – I’ll buy yours

Candy, a visit to Dallas would be fun. Spring & fall are the best times of year in the Big D!

    -Adam

Ps – did anybody figure out the ending yet?

Adam – damn, that’s the weekend I’m meeting David Holloway in Boston for a Red Sox-Borg game. Ah well. I did check the flights and my calendar for it, though. It would have been fun. And a free beer – well….
