WebmasterQuote28 May 2012 at 11:30 pm #1372Nice to see that volume 9 is up and ready, but I’ve yet to receive volume 8. Did the dongs in my address make you think it was a joke?
cantonaQuote29 May 2012 at 12:02 am #1373Email me at info(at)cormacmccarthy.com with your current and correct name and address and let me compare it to what we have on file for you. I’ll send you both eight and nine together.
Society members with Journal subscriptions ought to begin receiving their new issues early to mid next week.

30 May 2012 at 12:09 am #1405Not until Journal 10 is published – probably in the spring of 2013.
Meanwhile, Volume 9 is now in the mail and loping through the postal system towards those members who have subscribed to it with their memberships.
Rick WallachQuote03 Jun 2012 at 3:24 pm #1464Received Volume 9 in the mail. Appreciate receiving it and have already dug in on a few of the essays. Just an FYI to Rick that the postage was 56 cents short. I’m obviously not worried about the 56 cents but thought you’d like to know that in case you need to recalibrate your postage meter or whatever. Thanks!
GlassQuote03 Jun 2012 at 5:04 pm #1467Actually, the rate we sent it out at was correct according to the USPS web site – the same rate we’ve been using for it for years. Apparently some POs seem to think the “rigidity” of the issue kicks it up to the package rate, which, because it is not over 3/4″ thick or of a certain width or length is not correct. It’s just your USPS being staffed with idiots who can’t read their own rule book, or at the very least can’t explain it coherently to their customers. My apologies for the inconvenience. If you want to know why so many people have turned to private delivery services like Fedex, this is just another example. If we had the option to do the same thing cost-effectively, believe me, we’d jump at it.

03 Jun 2012 at 7:53 pm #1469No inconvenience at all, Rick. They left a little envelope for me to pay the 56 cents, so no big deal at all. I won’t complain as I had a Postal worker go Postal on me in the summer of 1999, and this incident involved a jakes! Long story and the damage was minimal. Anyway, glad to have the Journal and am much appreciative that you sent it out.
GlassQuote23 Jun 2012 at 8:10 pm #1628Pete, some story, it sounds. I’d like to hear the full version sometime. . . . Mine came through fine, with no extra postage. Must be a Nebraska thang.
