    Greetings All:

Can anyone tell me if there has been much analysis of McCarthy’s work that relies on psychoanalytic theory, particularly Freud’s notions of the dream and dreamwork?

I’m doing some work on The Road that focuses on all the dreaming, imagination, sleeping and waking, talk of wanting death/choosing to live, etc.

I know folks have written about dreams themselves in his fiction (especially in the Border Triology, and some attention to the dreams in COG), but I am more interested in people actually dialoging with Freud or other thinkers’ ideas.

I’m also early in the research process, so I apologize if I seem to be going off half-cocked, but I thought I’d post here as I’m continuing my own inquiries.

    All best,

    readman
