    All,

I’ve made a settings change which I’m hoping will allow for indefinite editing of posts. Could a few of you log in and try to edit a post you made long ago? Post the results here, please. If the change I’ve made doesn’t work, I’ve another idea.

    Thanks,

    Marty

Marty: I find that now I couldn’t edit at all, not even once, not even as soon as I posted.

    Another change made.

Thanks for that. Try it now. You should be able to edit posts for something like 180 years.

I expect that’s plenty long enough.

    Marty,

I don’t even know which place to click on to edit. I was told some months ago by a contributor, but that way didn’t work for me.

Also, are we able to italicize titles now without going through the tag  stuff below? I never have understood all these tags, and the few I do understand never work for me.

I haven’t heard from you about erasing the extra Blue Velvet post I did recently in the Movies thread. I didn’t see the little 1 2 sign at the end of the first page of this thread and thought my first post on the film didn’t go through, so I re-posted and unfortunately doubled the thing. The second Blue Velvet post (in dialog form) I’d like to erase. If I can’t, I’d appreciate your doing so. Thanks in advance.

On this PC, I no longer see anything on the main Forum page, just a big white space and the right hand sidebar. On my work PC I see the list of top level forums etc.

I’m afraid I really am finding this new site hard work, and don’t often use it now.

Has anyone out there figured out how to get the posts to list from “most recent” to ‘oldest’ ?

    Marty,

Many thanks for zapping my extra Blue Velvet post in Movies thread and for providing a simpler way to italicize titles.

If I may make another suggestion, the 1-2 (or more) page designation for a thread is so tiny a newcomer or even a non-techie like me can easily miss it. That’s the main reason I double posted my Blue Velvet dialogue, thinking I was at the end of the thread but was really just on page 1.

I recommend a larger  designation for the page nos and in a more conspicuous place.

robmcinroy: Sorry about that. Drop me an email (or post here) if you would, and let me know what browser and etc., you’re using on the PC that isn’t showing anything on the main forum page. Before you do that, refresh your browser while on that page and see if anything changes. I’ve been seeing sone strange behavior associated with browser caches, and I’m trying to figure out a fix.

There’s not a setting in the forum widget that controls this, so there’s no easy way to make it happen. I’m still looking.

I can make it larger, but I don’t know about more conspicuous–apart from its being larger, that is. May take a few days, but I’ll look into it.
