Annapurna is another great eatery located in the Knob Hill area of Albuquerque, in the general vicinity of the University of New Mexico. This one sits up the hill a bit from the Central Avenue-Route 66 axis along which, you may have noticed, the aforementioned restaurants have been strung. This one (there is one other in northwestern Albuquerque and another in Santa Fe) is on Silver Avenue, a couple of blocks south on Yale Avenue from Central.

This is vegetarian heaven, and even Vegans, the culinary equivalent of the House Freedom Caucus, will find it conforms to most of their maniacal standards of anti-speciesist purity. Vegans of the provisional wing variety will cavil at the presence of honey on the menu. Ah well. But aside from that, I have some favorites here – the salads are epic and the dosa, the traditional crisp lentil pancake filled with spiced potatoes, peas and chutneys is superb, as are the samosas and other classic subcontinental pastry fares – but the breakfasts are wonderful. My favorite is the big hot bowl of quinoa, sweetly loaded with nuts, honey, raisins, apricots and what have you, and you can add soymilk to it. On a cold February morning, it spikes your metabolism and sends you out into the misty inane loaded for Tofurkey bear.

Yet another great reason for our vegetarian members to get that proposal off to Dr. Sugg as soon as you can. The deadline, remember, is November 1.

Well, we just paid our registration fee for the conference.

Stagg and I are going to have a booth there.

My paper is called: GRIND: Antikythera Mechanisms Connection to “The Counselor”

We are super excited for the conference and for having a booth with our art work, and my new dvd compilation and maybe some other stuff.

I’m very interested in the vegetarian food sources.

I have tried to post some photos here…in various posts but even though I’ve shrunk my pics down I can’t seem to get them to appear.

So…I posted a couple of little things at my blog. I have been making some small paintings of characters and things from THE COUNSELOR. I find making these little paintings…of Cameron Diaz…to be a sort of active meditation while I write. Daydreaming… I also posted a link to an old blog post of Stagg versus New Mexico. I really didn’t think e’d ever go back to New Mexico.
