It’s the Award of Merit Medal for the Novel, plus $25,000.

The award is granted at an annual ceremony.

Thanks Peter. Remember when news like this would have sent this forum into a flurry of discussion and activity…..it’s so quiet around here. Maybe McCarty has become such a familiar name to most people that this isn’t even breaking news anymore. I wonder if McCarthy will go to the event? I see that Richard Tuttle will be there. And weird Bob. And Chabon is a speaker.

The American Academy of Arts and Letters is on 155th Street. In other words, down the block from Black and from the subway station at which I… I mean White… tried to take the Sunset Limited…
